The influence of a life or enterprise cannot be separated from the Holy Spirit. All of our successes are the result of leaning wholly upon God moment by moment. Gospel Outreach is a far-flung endeavor reaching around the world, affecting the lives of many for eternity. Each month we are reminded of God’s recreative power and His unfathomable love in the accounts sent in from the 10/40 Window. But now and then there is revealed a cameo of the other side of the great equation—the people … [Read more...]
Baptisms, building project mark progress
MARABUT, Philippines—We are maintaining small-group ministries in Veloso, Tag-alag, Sirum and Binongtuan. These ministries led to five baptisms with many others considering a decision to accept Christ as their personal Saviour. One day Sonath realized that some of his friends in the village had become Christians. Their children went to private schools, and their lives were noticeably better than … [Read more...]
Am I my brother’s keeper?
In Genesis 4:9 God asks Cain, "Where is Abel, your brother?" Of course, Cain, in a fit of rage, has just murdered Abel. But instead of confessing the deed and answering God directly, Cain lies and tries to sidestep. "I don't know," he says. "Am I my brother's keeper?" His question has profound personal and theological implications. It has echoed through the centuries as a challenge to every man and woman--and even to God Himself. At the cross, we find Jesus answering Cain's question … [Read more...]
