Prayer prevents leg amputation

Vijay Kumar and his elderly father had just completed an evangelistic series in one village. They were traveling by a motor rickshaw to the next village when suddenly the rickshaw was smashed in a terrible accident. Vijay lay unconscious on the road, his left leg mangled and broken in a compound fracture. Vijay was taken to a hospital. A doctor told Vijay that his leg was so mangled that an amputation would be needed. Out in the country, no one even thought of a prosthesis. Vijay could only … [Read more...]

A day in the life

I am a Gospel Outreach worker for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kalyanpur. A woman named Rajkumari lives in the village of Kilauni, which is near our church. Rajkumari was possessed by an evil spirit. She went here and there, consulting many people and doctors, but no matter what she did there was no improvement in her condition. Finally family members asked us to pray for Rajkumari. My wife and I went to her house and prayed for her regularly. Miraculously, by the grace of God, our … [Read more...]

Gains reported from historic Varanasi

The city of Varanasi, India, is being updated. All roads are being dug up for new sewage lines. The city has become a dust bowl. Land lines, electric service and telephone lines are disrupted. When we are in the city, electricity is not available; when electricity is turned on, we are away from the office for field work. Still, the Lord blesses us abundantly in many ways. I am thankful for all the Gospel Outreach volunteers, workers and supporters. God’s Spirit is upon each one of us, … [Read more...]

Triumph of the Lord’s Spirit

Chitukulla David, a Gospel Outreach worker, had been assigned to raise up a new church in a village in India. There were only two or three Adventist believers living in the village, and David worked with them to find people who would listen to the Gospel. The work was going very slow, but one by one new converts were added to the little company until nearly half of the village had joined the Adventist group. It soon became evident that the devil didn’t like this and was resisting and … [Read more...]

Methari Anand Kumar was studying in a parochial school, but in the 10th grade he ran out of money. He left school and made his way to the huge city of Hyderabad, India. God Calls Samuel

When Boddu Narayana was born in a remote village in India, no one would have guessed that one day he would be a mighty worker for God. Boddu was still quite young when missionaries came to his village and turned the hearts of his parents to the Lord. They were anxious for Boddu, now named Samuel, to be brought up in the Lord’s way of life. So in 1983 they enrolled him in an Adventist kindergarten school. When it was time for Samuel to begin primary school, the tuition was too expensive … [Read more...]

Last Debate

Every four years the United States political machine goes into high gear. Presidential candidates raise millions of dollars to tell others they can best lead the country. They travel, meet with groups, give speeches and court media attention. Today our world is confronted with another form of politics too, but this race has eternal consequences. It’s a spiritual duel. One side has a multi-billion-dollar propaganda machine to persuade people to choose the path of sin and self. The other side … [Read more...]

Free at last

Months of Bible study and prayer had convinced the woman that she wanted Jesus as her Savior, but the demons still troubled her at times. Church members brought her to the church and gathered around her like a shield. They kept her there for two days and nights while they prayed constantly for her. Then I defied the demons with a power they could not resist. I joined my prayer with those of the other church members and took out my vial of oil, anointing the woman as a symbol of God’s Holy … [Read more...]
