Montana

Wade Brooks and I recently attended the Montana Conference workers’ meeting in Bozeman. What a remarkable experience. We discovered ministry is alive and well in Montana. The pastors were enthusiastic, caring and committed to sharing Jesus. While at the meeting, we shared the mission of Gospel Outreach. Before our presentation was over, several people asked how they could help spread the good news in the 10/40 Window. One pastor said his church would adopt three workers, each from a … [Read more...]

Laborers for the harvest

“We have heard the joyful sound, ‘Jesus saves, Jesus saves.’” The words of this song have been going around and  around in my head for several days. As I listen to the news and view world conditions, very few joyful sounds are heard. Crisis upon crisis appear on the horizon, and it is becoming increasingly apparent this world’s problems cannot be solved by any human. Even non-believers are persuaded that something big is happening. Christians know that something big is happening … [Read more...]

“I love you best”

One day, Landon and I headed to Subway. Four years old at the time, he stared excitedly at all the tasty options. We ordered—toasted flatbread with cheese for him, a foot-long sub for me, plus pop and chocolate chip cookies. After we sat down, Landon looked at everything on the table. “Daddy, what do you love the best?” “Hmm,” I said. “Everything here is so yummy, I’d have a hard time choosing, but probably the cookies. How about you?” “I love you the best,” he … [Read more...]

Adopt-a-Worker

Having been involved with Gospel Outreach for just over a year now, Jane and I continue to be amazed at the commitment and dedication of the volunteers, including the regional directors and the workers in the field. We definitely see the Holy Spirit leading in this work. And now we each have opportunity to be more closely tied to the proclamation of the Third Angel’s Message through the Adopt-a-Worker program. We are participating in the program because we see so many positive facets in … [Read more...]

Mission work in the Philippines

Editor’s note—This month’s column reports from the frontlines of mission work in the Philippines. The author co-founded Gospel Outreach 20 years ago and remains an active worker in the field. We continue to work hard for the advancement of the ministry in our territories. This summer we coordinated an educational mission in Camachille and Nabuclod. My son, Ton-ton, led office workers to donate study materials to all grade-one pupils in these schools. In June, the San Nicolas … [Read more...]

Beautiful Feet

A good friend of mine, Lona Mason, was thinking about Gospel Outreach when she shared a passage of scripture with me: “How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” (Romans 10:14–15). Let’s be honest. Most feet are not … [Read more...]

The Aroma of Christ

What do more than 2,000 Gospel Outreach-sponsored workers and our 17 regional directors have in common? As I volunteer to support their efforts, one thing has been impressed upon my mind: They live their faith in “real time.” I am struck as I read their testimonies that they go to their labor with no earthly idea what will happen. Sometimes they come to a home that is under a curse. Often they encounter severe depression, addiction, financial devastation, hunger, hostility, illness and … [Read more...]

1 Million Souls for Christ in the 10/40 Window

I long to see Jesus soon and will do whatever I possibly can further the gospel commission. I’ve found my niche in helping with Gospel Outreach, where the most is done with even the smallest donations. And I believe that Jesus is coming sooner because Gospel Outreach workers are preaching the gospel in their far-off homelands. Just a minute—why isn’t this message going forward in our homeland? Our churches now seem to be almost empty compared to the 1970s. Why? Ellen White explains … [Read more...]

Adopt-A-Worker

Statistics show that more than 3,500 people every day are leaving churches. Only an estimated 14.4 percent will attend church on a given weekend in North America by 2020. These statistics are alarming. But they do not tell the entire story. Today, divisions in the 10/40 Window are asking Gospel Outreach to supply 90 new workers each month. The people are crying out to hear the Word of Jesus. The harvest is ripe, and the fires are burning. We can't afford to miss this opportunity. We must … [Read more...]
