In one of the countries where the work is showing great promise and where our leader must have great vision, a training center was urgently needed so believers can be educated to take the precious gospel back to their towns and villages.
As prayers were directed to heaven, plans were laid, donations came in, and property was purchased. Everything was proceeding according to God’s providence.
Then natural gas was discovered deep beneath the 12 acres purchased for the new training center. In that country, though the land is the property of the legal owner, all natural resources under the ground’s surface are automatically the government’s property.
Worse yet, the natural gas reserves under this property were so abundant that the government would take the property as well. What had been so ideal now turned into concern. Why had God’s leading seemed so definite just to lose the property in the end?
The government offered to relocate the many landowners whose property would be taken over. Our ministry leader immediately went to see what could be negotiated. Providentially, he was the first to request the exchange of land. The official who attended to him was courteous and helpful as they set out to negotiate the relocation.
“Here’s a map of the available lands that we can offer in exchange. I recommend this one,” the official said, pointing to a 10-acre plot in the heart of a prime commercial area and centered in the provincial capital.
More couldn’t have been hoped for! This property was worth four times the value of the land they were losing. Further, it was close to public transportation and bordered by major highways, providing yet another blessing. Negotiations proceeded immediately.
With a better location secured, plans for building the training center at the new location are moving ahead steadily.
When God denies His children something they desire, He is able to supply them with more than they could ask and more than they can even imagine.
We praise God for proof of His leading and ask you to remember in your prayers this new training center that is now in its development stage. We hope to see the work mushroom as well-trained workers fan out all over that great country.
