Harold Aron (pictured) prayed for Mr. Bikshap and anointed him. Immediately the excruciating pain from the black scorpion sting went away, and Mr. Bikshap was healed.
People kept calling Gospel Outreach worker Harold Aron the scorpion pastor. I had to find out why, so I asked him. Here’s the story:
One day, Mr. Bikshap was out in his field cutting grass with a big knife. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain on the end of his left index finger. Glancing down he saw a dreaded black scorpion scurrying for cover. The pain was intense.
Just a few days before, a woman had died from a scorpion sting, so Mr. Bikshap was very anxious.
Staggering back to his house, he called out for help. Unfortunately, no one knew of any medicine that could treat the sting. But someone had an idea. They quickly sent a messenger to the next village to call the pastor.
Upon receiving the call, Pastor Harold knew he was facing a very serious challenge. Everyone in Mr. Bikshap’s village was Hindu. If Pastor Harold failed to save this man’s life because of any hidden sin in himself or lack of faith in God, God would be dishonored, and the people never would want to learn about Him.
So, Pastor Harold called another church member. The two of them spent three hours together in prayer. Then they went to see the afflicted man.
Mr. Bikshap was writhing on the floor and kicking about wildly with the excruciating pain. Friends and family members had to tie him with a rope so Pastor Harold could get near him.
Pastor Harold knelt and began praying. During his prayer he anointed Mr. Bikshap with oil. As he finished, the pain instantly went away, and Mr. Bikshap suffered no further effects from the scorpion sting. The people could see that Pastor Harold served the all-powerful God.
After Mr. Bikshap’s experience, 16 other people in that area have been stung by black scorpions. Pastor Harold has prayed for them, and God has healed every one of them. So, that’s how Pastor Harold became known as the scorpion pastor.
Whenever there’s an opportunity, Pastor Harold hands out literature about Jesus. When someone is interested in learning more, he follows the literature with Bible studies.
Mr. Bikshap’s entire family and two other recovered victims have been baptized, and others are studying to become Christians.
