“Mommy, mommy. Guess what I learned today in Saturday school? My teacher told me a story about a very famous doctor from Israel. He is now working in India. And He can fix blind eyes.”
“Are you sure, Suresh?” the mother asked her son.
“Yes, mommy. Please come with me to the healing center where He works.”
“But son, He won’t be able to fix my eyes. I have never been able to see anything. My eyes were bad before I was born. Besides, I don’t have enough money to pay such a great doctor,” the mother said. But her son wasn’t discouraged.
“He doesn’t charge money. He loves to heal people. Come with me quickly. Here take my hand.”
At the healing center, a Gospel Outreach worker warmly greeted mother and son.
“Peace be to you, and welcome,” he said.
“Please, sir,” the boy said, “invite Dr. Jesus to see my mommy. I know He can fix her eyes right now.”
“I have a plan,” the young pastor replied. “It will take 40 days. Here’s what we must do. Come here every day, and I will talk with Dr. Jesus. Before you arrive each day, I will skip one meal in order to spend even more time talking with Dr. Jesus.”
“Whatever you say, we will do,” replied the mother.
On the 40th day, everyone was excited. Suresh could hardly wait to watch his mommy see his smiling face for the first time.
“And now, Dr. Jesus, please open the eyes of your little sister so she can see how happy Suresh is,” the worker prayed.
And that is exactly what happened. Suresh looked into his mommy’s eyes and saw tears of joy pouring down her face.
“I knew You would do it! Thank you, Dr. Jesus.”
