School for deaf coming to Philippines

The first Adventist school for the deaf in the Philippines is under construction near Malaybalay.

Sarah Famisaran, worker for the deaf in Mindanao, recently joined a team from North America to dedicate the Sulads* School for the Deaf, which is under construction near Malaybalay and will be the first Adventist school for the deaf in the Philippines.

The group continued to Mountain View College, where nine deaf people were baptized by Jeff Jordan, a pastor from Collegedale, Tenn. Several more asked him to return next year to baptize them.

Using sign language, Jeff Jordan dedicates the new Sulads School for the Deaf.

The work for the deaf in the Philippines is off to a good start, and now people are praying for a church building in which to worship.

*Sulads are student missionaries from Mountain View College in the Philippines. Gospel Outreach helps sponsor about 10 Sulads.
