What a difference two letters can make in Africa. Clifford Owusu-Gyamfi, an Adventist pastor in Ghana, wrote to me on Sept. 27, 2006, to describe the needs of the deaf people in his area. COLLEGE PLACE, Wash.—How do you share the story of Jesus with people who don’t read? That’s the challenge among the 880,000 Maasai who live in Kenya, Africa. They are a nomadic tribe that herds cattle, sheep and goats. Most of the Maasai have no formal education. They learn by word of mouth. In their area is a free dental clinic.
