In 2020 Gospel Outreach partnered with Ultimate Mission, an organization that trains the wives of Gospel Outreach Bible workers in simple medical remedies and home health ministry. These husband-and-wife teams then work together to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those around them. Having the health component opens doors that otherwise would have remained closed.
By January 2021, 40 husband-and-wife teams were ministering to people’s needs. By the middle of 2023, the program had grown to more than 200 teams.
Please pray that these teams will continue to make a positive difference in the world now and for eternity.
Baby’s on the way:
Rajitha gives prenatal care to young mother
Rajitha S. is a health worker sponsored by donors to Gospel Outreach. In the city of Khammam, located in southern India, she treats 20 to 40 people per week. They may need first aid, a more nutritious diet, better hydration, counseling or referrals to see a doctor. She assesses health status, teaches health classes, and suggests natural remedies helpful for certain conditions.
In this photo, Rajitha (standing), visits with Jannu Usha Gari, who is 7 months pregnant. Rajitha tells Jannu which nutrient-rich foods will help promote good health during the remainder of her pregnancy.
You can partner with Gospel Outreach in supporting this type of valuable home health care.
Thank you for providing a way for workers like Rajitha to be the hands and heart of Jesus in places like Khammam.
Mary provides first aid for foot injury
Mary T. is another health worker sponsored through Gospel Outreach. In the city of Guntur, located in southern India, she teaches health classes, visits people, assesses health status and provides treatment for basic health issues.
Recently, for example, Mary stopped by the home of a woman named Parvati. While there, Mary checked Parvati’s blood pressure and found that it was within normal limits.
In this photo, Mary (seated on the floor) cleans and bandages Mabulamma’s foot injury.
