VIETNAM
My name is Ton That Dung. I’m a Gospel Outreach Bible worker in Vietnam. My village practices the Hoa Hao religion, a sect of Buddhism.
Because most people here are Hoa Hao, they aren’t interested in other beliefs. Building friendships over time helps open the door for discussions that wouldn’t otherwise happen.
To begin developing trust, I use my skills to help others. As a barber in my village, I offer free haircuts to people so I can get to know them. Once we’re friends, I might have a chance to introduce them to Jesus.
Right now, I’m trying to make friends with an older woman named Mun. She doesn’t want to visit with me yet, but I’ve offered a free haircut to her nephew. If I keep trying, I believe she’ll let me talk to her. Please pray for Mun, her nephew and the other people in this area. Pray that their hearts and minds will be open to the work of the Holy Spirit and that I’ll know how to be a good friend.
