Binduman Magar lives in Rukum, a remote village in western Nepal. He was born and raised in a Hindu family.
Life is challenging in Rukum. The high altitude makes winters icy and summers dry. People reside in small mud-and-stone houses.
Smoking and alcohol use are common behaviors that ultimately affect health.
When Binduman turned 50, he began noticing health problems and thought it was due to evil spirits. He asked a shaman for help, but the rituals did no good and exhausted his savings.
Buda Singerman, a Bible worker, noticed Binduman’s declining health and began visiting him and praying for him.
Binduman listened as Singerman told him about the God who can heal. Binduman stopped smoking and drinking, and his health improved. Now he and his wife believe in Jesus.
