Turna Village, India—Mamta Kumari grew up in a culture immersed in mythological stories. These stories, combined with chronic poor health, filled her life with stress and anxiety.
One day Mamta overheard a prayer meeting at her neighbor Mithai Lal’s house. As she listened, the songs and messages gave her a glimmer of hope. Curious to discover what the meeting was all about, Mamta invited Mithai to her home. Mithai, a Gospel Outreach Bible worker, shared stories of miracles and healings done by a man named Jesus. Mithai told how Jesus is the life giver, and He offers eternal life through His sacrifice.
Mamta and her family had never heard such teachings before. Mithai’s prayers sparked a change. Mamta began attending an Adventist church with her parents, listening to the worship service, singing and studying the Bible. The teachings brought light into their lives.
Mamta’s health improved, and peace and joy replaced stress and anxiety. In Jesus, she found healing and hope.
