India
I was sitting outside preparing Bible study lessons one evening when I saw a man walking toward me. At first, I thought he was from my village. As he came closer, I realized that I didn’t know him. He asked if I was an Adventist Bible worker. I said yes. Then he started to yell at me and call me names. I asked who he was.
He told me he was the pastor of a church in the next village and that I should stay far away from his church members. He told me not to teach them any false doctrines.
I listened as this pastor ridiculed my beliefs. Finally, I said that if he could prove I was teaching false doctrines, I would leave my denomination and help him in his church.
He refused and continued to insist that I should stay away from his church members. I said it was up to him to keep people away. He knew I wouldn’t give up teaching from the Bible, so he left. Before leaving, he threatened to harm me if I persisted.
Please pray that I will be strong enough to face these challenges while I work for the Lord. And pray that the pastor’s mind will be open to any promptings from the Holy Spirit.
