Within the last year, Gospel Outreach leaders have become aware of an unprecedented opportunity to spread the gospel in Myanmar (formerly Burma), a country in which Christians can face persecution.
So, how do we get missionaries into Myanmar when it is closed? That is where this incredible opportunity has come to our attention. Sunshine Orchard Learning Center is located in Thailand near the border with Myanmar. It started small a few years ago with dedicated volunteers and has grown to a very large school as Myanmar parents gained confidence in this K-12 Christian school’s training program. The total enrollment is now over 800.
No student is turned away for lack of funds. Currently Gospel Outreach sponsors over 40 teachers who bring the gospel to these students every day. There is an urgent need for continued funding for these dedicated Adventist teachers. Additionally, the students are living in cramped quarters and studying in crowded classrooms but are thrilled to be receiving a good education and learning about Jesus on a daily basis.
As the students learn about Jesus and return to the far-flung reaches of Myanmar, they spread the gospel to their friends and family where other missionaries cannot go. Thus, even though the situation in Myanmar is challenging, God has opened the doors for hundreds of young “missionaries” to return to spread the gospel.
We are thrilled to see students with their own Bibles learning the word of God on a daily basis. The weeks of prayer and Sabbath church services add another spiritual dimension to these students’ lives.
Your continued support and donations for all Gospel Outreach workers are greatly appreciated. We especially urge you to pray for Sunshine Orchard Learning Center and thank you for your love gifts.
