At the conclusion of the 2005 NASCAR season, the Nextel Cup and $5,849,800 were awarded to Tony Stewart. While the NASCAR faithful saw Stewart’s championship as inevitable, it seemed curious to casual observers. In the final race, he didn’t lead a single lap, rolling to a 15th place finish. However, Stewart won three of the 10 Chase races and had the best average finish during the Chase, showcasing consistent excellence.
How did he win the championship? Consistent, week-after-week racing by the entire team throughout the season made the cumulative difference. In a word, teamwork. Drivers don’t win races alone. Mechanics, fabricators, pit crew, spotters, and certainly the crew chief must all work together. It is all about teamwork.
You are a pivotal part of the Gospel Outreach team. Yes, we celebrate kingdom growth in remote fields as Bible workers share God’s love with new believers. We eagerly read their stories in these pages. But none of that would happen without dedicated regional directors, countless volunteers, prayer warriors and faithful contributors like you—all anointed with Holy Spirit power. This too is a team effort!
Thank you for your critically important contribution to Team Gospel Outreach. The finish line is just ahead.
“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever” (1 Corinthians 9:25).
